Welcome to "Between The Clicks"

Welcome to “Between the Clicks”. A blog dedicated to the art and science of photography (or at least my rants about taking pictures). A place for people to share ideas and opinions about this great form of self expression. In the past photography was not known for its sharing of ideas. I suppose non of us were when we were younger. Today we could not learn and grow without sharing with each other. I am Jeff Pera, a photographer from New Jersey. I have been taking pictures for pleasure (with plenty of frustration) for many years and professionally for the last few years. One of the aspects of photography I enjoy the most is the sharing of ideas. It is always a learning experience talking to other photographers to see how they would approach a session or finding out how they addressed issues I have yet to come across. This is what this blog will be all about. Taking a journey into the world of photography with all of you.

The journey would be a lonely one without you so please chime in when something hits you (or you feel like hitting me). Its all about sharing ideas and helping others. Helping others is what inspired this blog. I enjoy talking about my experiences and hearing about others.

How will I contribute to the journey? I will talk about photography shoots from a behind the scenes perspective. I will write those posts as if I were there, talking my way through the problems and excitement of the shoot. I will have plenty of posts dedicated to teaching the art of photography. I will break these topics down so that everyone from beginners to professionals will be able to take something away from them. I will review products and compare them with products I have experience using. I will talk about technical issues in photography such as the limitations and advantages of the digital world. I have quite a bit of experience with Photoshop and I am sure that will be the focus of future posts. I will also talk about the trials and tribulations of professional photography.

What I would like from you is your input. All of the posts will be my opinion with some facts mixed in. There will certainly be plenty of people that disagree with me. I want to hear from you. There will be people reading this that can contribute more info to the topic of discussion and I want to hear from you.

I understand that this just sounds like a crazy mess of photography soup. It is. Maybe in the future I will focus on one area of photography, or I might not but for the time being please join me on this journey into the world of photography.
